Cynthia (Cindy) Tymoruski
Coaching for 45 years, 40 of which have been with Skate Battlefords. I have had the privilege of working with many volunteers over the years who have put in a great deal of time, energy and commitment into creating the outstanding skating club we offer today.
We are inclusive, proactive and have produced gold level and competitive skaters. Amazing coaches, evaluators and most important life long friendships.
My purpose in creating the Pathway to Success is to encompasses team collaboration between coaches, parents and skaters so they can achieve personal goals.
We not only coach skating technique but also life skills and perseverance. Embracing the often; difficult process to produce the desired success.
On behalf of Skate Battlefords it is our commitment to be recognized Provincially as an inclusive skating club, providing a Pathway to Success for all populations to skate and succeed.
The possibilities are endless and exciting.
I’m always on board with skaters and their goals and aspirations. Training each of the disciplines in detail is an important part of my work off and on the ice. Off-Ice we practice a variety of stationary floor exercises on the harness, spinners as well as explore independent exercises that train muscle memory and improve technique. On-ice my focus is to keep skaters engaged and on task, improving and increasing physical, mental focus and stability.
I enjoy working with the Skate Battlefords Coaching Team to produce excellence in Skating.
Born and raised in North Battleford, I have been a member of the Skate Battleford club for most of my life. I started in CanSkate and went on to achieve triple gold status when I was actively skating.
My life has always revolved around skating, with my coaching career starting in high school as a Program Assistant in the CanSkate program. During university, I completed my CanSkate and Regional coaching courses and became head coach of the Medstead Skating Club for 3 years. Following that, I moved into town and have been coaching at Skate Battlefords in whatever capacity needed, eventually taking on the role of CanSkate Director in 2021.
The CanSkate program is meant to be the basis for those kids interested in any type of ice sport and I strive to have representation from hockey, figure skating, and speed skating present. Most of all, it is meant to be FUN! As an elementary Phys. Ed. Teacher during the day, I know what that is all about!
As Skate Canada: Saskatchewan Section Program Coordinator I plan and administer; The Rising Stars and Star Seminars plus the Black Boots Seminars. I’m part of the Athlete Development Program, always on the look out for aspiring skaters who want to excel in the sport.
I enjoy being part of a team to help coaches, skaters and parents with the direction needed to be successful in their skating goals. I look forward to working with you.
